Akira is known to many people. Some of them happen to
be demo makers or musicians or whatever.
Here's a list of links to various things I found on the net.
I also put links to other Akira related WWW pages or FTP
sites on this page:
Akira sound wad for Doom2: Hell on Earth
Wads are files which can be added when you start
Doom (2). They can patch usally graphics and sound.
This one adds some (about 100) Akira sounds. Download
it at a proper time: The file is almost 3 Megs long. Thanks
to the net community to have relocated the WAD on the net for me.
Here are some addresses:
The
animeDOOM page has a description of it and the reason why it's so large.
No good reason indeed. Here's a description by the
authors which is quite fun to read. ^_^
Here's the link to
ftp.hsrc.ac.za in South Africa.
Mod Music files: Akira Rave / Akira Rave II / Neo Tokyo
Be warned: the Akira Raves are completely hardcore! Some of the samples are
taken from the Akira film e.g. the heavy drums from the title or the sound
from the device which the doctor uses to view the power. I've finally found
the files again and yet again (thanks to Charles Vestal and Atomic). Both of
of them and even a new MOD Neo Tokyo are found on:

XM music file: Akira on Nitrous
A music file in the MOD-like .XM format. I haven't listened
to this one yet. ^_^

This is a

pictures from the manga in their demo. It's quite worth looking for an Akira
fan, so check it out. The size is 745k. You can get it from the main demosite
at hornet.org or its mirrors:

Akira theme for Windows 95
It finally appeared on the web again: The Akira desktop theme. If you don't
know what a theme is, the site where I found it, the
Anime Desktop Themes page, can
explain it much better than I could. Actually there's not only one but three
of them:
